Look & Feel Like You, Only Younger

Discover natural-looking, long-lasting, beautiful results by stimulating your own collagen production. Although technically not a filler, Sculptra® is the only FDA-approved biodegradable injectable collagen biostimulator that works deep in the skin to improve its inner structure to smooth facial wrinkles, such as smile lines.

Sculptra Filler with Bellora Medical Aesthetics in Seattle with Injector Nurse Beth Myrick

What to Expect

Derived from beet sugar, Sculptra can be used to target sagging skin in the neck, décolletage, elbows, abdomen, thighs, and legs.

It gradually stimulates your body’s own collagen production to deliver natural-looking results that still look amazing 2 years after treatment.

One to four treatment sessions (typically three) may be needed to achieve optimal correction, with a minimum of three-week intervals between injection sessions.

The duration of Sculptra depends on a number of factors, including:

  • Age
  • Site of injections
  • Baseline volume of collagen
  • Bone structure
  • Skin elasticity
  • Amount injected

94% of patients☆ agreed that the treatment results look natural at 2 years after treatment.★ ☼

Before Your Sculptra Appointment

Before your appointment, discontinue all of the following for 7–10 days: aspirin, Motrin, ibuprofen, vitamin E and fish oil, garlic, Ginkgo Biloba, niacin, flax seed oil, and Omega 3, as these products can cause bruising. Tylenol can be taken for discomfort before and after the procedure. Arnica pills and Arnica cream can be used to decrease bruising and swelling and can be started 3 days prior to injections.

After Your Appointment

  • Apply an ice pack for 5–10 minutes every 2 hours for the first day, then apply 1–2 times daily for 2 more days. Do not apply pressure unless instructed by Bellora Medical Aesthetics.
  • Avoid hot tubs, saunas, hot yoga, or heavy exercising for 24–48 hours.
  • Tylenol can be taken for discomfort before and after the procedure.
  • Arnica pills and Arnica cream can be used to decrease bruising and swelling and can be started 3 days prior to injections. Apply over-the-counter Arnica gel to the treatment area to help decrease the bruising, swelling, and discomfort. Take oral Arnica and Bromelain to reduce the length of the bruise.
  • It is normal for the injection areas to be bruised and might take 7–14 days to fade.
  • It is normal for the injection areas to be red and swollen for 3–7 days.
  • It is normal for one side to be slightly fuller than the other. Asymmetry is part of the human anatomy, but I am happy to see you in 2–4 weeks for a touch up if asymmetry is bothersome after injections.
  • Sleeping on your back with your head elevated using 2 pillows for 3 nights will help ensure that the newly injected filler stays in place. Another option would be to use a wraparound neck pillow to stabilize your head.
  • Contact Bellora Medical Aesthetics if you experience numbness, tingling, discomfort, or discoloration of the skin on or around the injection site. Call 911 immediately if you are unable to reach us and if you experience vision or neurological changes.
