Botox® Xeomin® Jeuveau® Dysport® Daxxify®

Time flies, and we all get older at the same rate. Sure, properly treating your skin will help delay wrinkles from setting in. But when a daily skincare routine alone doesn’t cut it anymore, it’s time to try something else. With neurotoxins (aka Botox® and other wrinkle relaxers), we have a safe way to slow down the aging process.

What to Expect

Most fine lines and wrinkles are caused by repetitive movement of facial muscles. Calling them names — like 11s, RBF, Crow’s Feet, and Smile lines — is only cute for so long. Botox and other wrinkle relaxers work by relaxing the muscles, allowing the affected area to soften and appear more youthful.

Your Bellora practitioner injects the wrinkle relaxer into strategic places based on your facial expressions as determined by their facial analysis. The appointment lasts about 15–30 minutes.

You should start seeing results in 5–7 days, with full results at about 2 weeks. Typically, the results from neurotoxins last about 3 months — although results and the length of their effectiveness vary as the Botox metabolizes in the body, and every body is different.

Trust us, we know the first time can be scary.

That’s why we’ve dispelled several myths here. And, it’s why we offer a consultation — either in the office or virtually. The consultation includes a full facial analysis and an estimate of services. Although we do charge $200 for a consultation, we credit it back to any service within 60 days, making the consultation complimentary.

Myths About Wrinkle Relaxers

MYTH: Botox will freeze your face and make you look like a cartoon.

Wrong! At Bellora Medical Aesthetics, the number one priority is to give each patient a personalized, natural look.

MYTH: The best time to start doing Botox is when lines are already present.

Incorrect! It’s best to be ahead of the game and begin Botox before lines set in. Wrinkle relaxers are even more effective when used preventively. In fact, it’s been shown to train people to stop making certain facial expressions that contribute to worsening those lines. Of course, once fine lines and wrinkles have set in, Botox will help them relax and smooth their appearance.

MYTH: If you discontinue using Botox, your wrinkles will worsen.

No, your muscles will go back to where they were and continue to develop at a normal pace. In no way will your wrinkles become worse. It’s been shown that people who get Botox at regular intervals can sometimes have slightly longer effects.

MYTH: The only use for Botox is for wrinkles.

That is not the case at all! Neurotoxins can be used to treat headaches and migraines by reducing muscle tension and strain on the nervous system. Botox can also be used to prevent excessive sweating, reduce teeth grinding, correct a gummy smile, and ease chronic muscle pain. It’s currently being studied to determine if it helps patients who are dealing with depression.

MYTH: Only women get Botox.

False! Ever heard of Bro-tox?! Statistically, more men are getting Botox each year, and they’re not all as old as you’d think — it’s quite common for men in their 30s to seek wrinkle relaxer treatments. A great use of Botox in both men and women is to soften their look, giving patients a more approachable appearance. Men have reported finding the softening effects of their facial expressions helpful in their everyday lives.

MYTH: Botox causes botulism.

Untrue! Incredibly small amounts of neurotoxin are injected, quantities that are insufficient to cause botulism or any related symptoms.

Other Benefits of Botox

Botox and other neurotoxins help with sweating also known as hyperhidrosis in the face, armpits, hands, and even feet. Botox also can help with acne breakouts, psoriasis, and eczema.

Wrinkle Relaxers We Use

At Bellora Medical Aesthetics, we use a variety of neurotoxins, not just the most widely known, which is Botox. We also incorporate Xeomin, Jeuveau, Dysport, and Daxxify into our treatment plans.

After Your Appointment

Although most patients have zero pain after injection of a wrinkle relaxer, some patients might experience slight redness, swelling, bruising, or a headache. Refrain from touching the areas of treatment for at least 1 hour. And for 24 hours, avoid hot tubs, saunas, hot yoga, or heavy exercising. Download our full aftercare instructions for Botox.
