8-Point Lift
General Information
As we age, we lose collagen and our structures naturally fall so dermal fillers and or bio stimulants are a great option to help combat the natural loss of collagen.
It’s normal to feel some discomfort during the procedure and to see bruising develop in the hours after, so we place ice followed by topical application of Arnicare gel to reduce bruising. If you bruise, we expect it to heal in about 7-14 days. It is also normal to experience redness and swelling around the injected areas, which should resolve over the next hours to days. Asymmetry is part of normal human anatomy, but can be enhanced during times of swelling, like directly after a procedure such as this.
The following are post-treatment recommendations to improve comfort, reduce inflammation, and limit the chance of post-procedure complications:
- Always wash your hands thoroughly before touching your face.
- Avoid hot tubs, saunas, heavy exercise, and sun/heat exposure for 3-5 days after treatment. Take this time to rest and heal instead.
- Avoid touching, rubbing, or applying pressure on the treated area(s).
- Ice the treated area(s) for the next 24-48 hours, placing an icepack for 5–10 minutes every hour. Do not apply heat or pressure unless directed by your clinician.
- If pain relief is needed, take over-the-counter Tylenol as needed (instead of ibuprofen/Motrin/Advil).
- Do not lay down flat for several hours after your treatment, and sleep on your back with your head elevated for 3-5 days after treatment, to help lessen swelling.
- Avoid applying makeup, but if you need to apply product we recommend waiting until after the first 24hrs, and using new or well-cleaned brushes and make-up.
- Avoid alcohol, caffeine, high salt/sugar food, spicy food, and cigarettes for at least 24-48 hours after your procedure, as these may contribute to increased swelling, bruising, and redness.
- Stay hydrated and eat as cleanly as possible, focusing on nutrient-rich whole food.
- Follow the skincare recommendations given to you by your provider at the end of your treatment, and wait at least 2 weeks before resuming cosmetic treatments using laser/ultrasound/peels/facials/microdermabrasion.
These recommendations should not inhibit your ability to participate in most normal day to-day activities, but if the swelling becomes extremely uncomfortable or if you experience any other extreme symptoms (such as numbness, tingling, discomfort, facial muscle weakness, skin ulceration/discoloration around injection sites) we need to know right away.

AQUAGOLD Fine Touch & Microinfusion
General Information
This treatment is designed to give you about 3-4 months of plump, smooth skin, with a reduction in fine lines and visible pores. It’s normal to feel mild discomfort during the procedure, so in-office we place a numbing gel, followed by topical application of skincare products to the treatment area to assist in collagen production and healing. Your skin might be red and sensitive post-procedure, and you might have some light pin-point bleeding. If peeling occurs, it might begin the day after your procedure or may be delayed until days 3, 4, or 5.
As this treatment doesn’t require planned recovery time, you can resume most usual activities soon after.
The following are post-treatment recommendations to reduce inflammation and bruising, limit the chance of infection, and ensure the best results:
- Do not lay down flat for 4 hours after treatment.
- Always wash your hands thoroughly before touching your face.
- Avoid hot tubs, saunas, and heavy exercise for 24 hours post-treatment, and while actively peeling.
- Avoid touching, rubbing, or applying pressure on the treated area(s).
- Avoid applying makeup, but if you need to apply product we recommend waiting until after the first 24hrs, and using new or well-cleaned brushes and makeup.
- Avoid alcohol, caffeine, high salt/sugar food, and cigarettes for at least 24-48 hours after your procedure, as these may contribute to increased swelling, bruising, and redness.
- Avoid direct sunlight for at least 1 week, and do not forget to apply sunscreen daily, and wear hats and sunglasses when outdoors.
- Stay hydrated and eat as cleanly as possible, focusing on nutrient-rich whole food.
- Follow the skincare recommendations given to you by your Bellora esthetician at the end of your treatment.

Botox & Other Wrinkle Relaxers
General Information
Neurotoxins block nerve signals to inhibit muscles from contracting, easing the appearance of wrinkles and helping to prevent new ones from forming. It’s normal to feel some discomfort or pain when getting injections, so in-office we place ice, followed by topical application of Arnicare gel to the treatment area to reduce bruising. These injections don’t require planned recovery time, so you can resume most usual activities soon after.
The following are post-treatment recommendations to reduce inflammation and bruising, limit the chance of infection, and ensure the best results:
- Do not lay down flat for 4 hours after treatment.
- Avoid hot tubs, saunas, and heavy exercise for 24 hours.
- Avoid touching, rubbing, or applying pressure on the injected area(s).
- Avoid applying makeup for 24 hours afterward. Avoid alcohol, caffeine, high salt/sugar food, and cigarettes for at least 24-48 hours after your procedure, as these may contribute to increased swelling/bruising.
In clinical trials neurotoxin took 2 weeks to metabolize, or “kick in,” and it’s very common to need more units after 2 weeks. Each body’s metabolism is unique, and we prefer to start with lower dosing and add more if necessary or desired. Bruising, swelling, and a feeling of forehead or eyelid heaviness are normal, as is eyebrow asymmetry.

Hydrafacial
General Information
Hydrafacial is the only hydradermabrasion treatment that combines cleansing, extraction, and hydration simultaneously, resulting in clearer, more beautiful skin with no downtime. The treatments are soothing, moisturizing, non-invasive, and generally non-irritating. You may experience mild tingling and stinging during treatment subsiding within three hours of treatment. Results vary by person, but you will likely see results immediately lasting for 1-4 weeks. For best results, we recommend monthly Hydrafacial treatments.
As this treatment doesn’t require planned recovery time, you can resume most usual activities soon after. Most commonly, patients experience tightness, temporary irritation, skin sensitivity, or redness for the first 72 hours. You may experience a delayed onset of these symptoms. Please contact us immediately if symptoms persist or worsen over time.
The following are post-treatment recommendations to protect your skin’s health and ensure the best results:
- Always wash your hands thoroughly before touching your face.
- Avoid direct sunlight for at least 1 week, and do not forget to apply sunscreen daily, and wear hats and sunglasses when outdoors.
- For at least 1 week after treatment, avoid tanning beds, products containing acid or Retin-A, alcohol, and smoking. These factors may increase irritation.
- Follow the skincare recommendations given to you by your Bellora esthetician at the end of your treatment.

IV Nutrient Therapy
General Information
Most concerns encountered following an IV treatment can be prevented. The following are some of the most common and helpful preventive measures.
- Hydration: Dehydration causes most post-IV symptoms and concerns. The therapy can be dehydrating as well, so it’s best if one hydrates before, during, and after the procedure. Symptoms such as headache, dizziness, dry mouth, joint stiffness, joint aches, and others often are due to a need for more fluids. Sports drinks (e.g. Gatorade) and coconut water may be used, but water is best.
- Injection Site Care: Your injection site was cleaned and attended to properly during your treatment. Even though the bleeding was stopped you can bruise and bleed internally for some time. If you have discomfort over the injection site, you may apply cold towels or ice for 10-15 minutes at a time. Please notify us promptly if the pain or redness over the site increases.
Common Concerns
Most post-IV symptoms are simply the nutrients working through your system. Increased/decreased energy, increased/decreased desire to sleep or eat, and increased thirst are normal in the first day or two after an IV treatment.
If any of the following are progressively worsening after your treatment, please call our office immediately.
- Swelling over the veins / IV site.
- Redness over the vein that progresses and covers more area.
- Pain in the vein that is not improving over an 8–12 hour period.
- Headache that does not resolve with increased hydration or mild analgesics such as Aspirin, Tylenol, or ibuprofen.

Kybella
General Information
Kybella helps treat unwanted fat by breaking down the fat cells, preventing further fat storage and accumulation. Your body will then absorb and eliminate the separated parts of these destroyed cells over time. One sign that this process is taking place is swelling in the area of your injections, which may continue for 1-2 weeks after treatment. To help reduce pain and bruising, we utilize ice packs and compression during treatment.
The following are post-treatment recommendations to improve comfort, reduce inflammation, and limit the chance of infection:
- Always wash your hands thoroughly before touching your face.
- Avoid hot tubs, saunas, heavy exercise, and sun/heat exposure for 3-5 days after treatment.
- Take this time to rest and heal instead. Avoid touching, rubbing, or applying pressure on the treated area(s).
- We will send you home with ice, leave this in place for 1 hour. Then ice the treated area(s) for the next 24 hours.
- Do not apply heat.
- If pain relief is needed, take over-the-counter Tylenol as needed (instead of ibuprofen/Motrin/Advil).
- Do not lay down flat for several hours after your treatment, and sleep on your back with your head elevated for 3-5 days after treatment, to help lessen swelling.
- Avoid applying makeup, but if you need to apply product we recommend waiting until after the first 24hrs, and using new or well-cleaned brushes and makeup.
- Follow the skincare recommendations given to you by your Bellora esthetician at the end of your treatment, and wait at least 2 weeks before resuming cosmetic treatments using laser/ultrasound/peels/facials/microdermabrasion.
These recommendations should not inhibit your ability to participate in most normal day-to-day activities, but if the swelling becomes extremely uncomfortable or if you experience any other extreme symptoms (such as an asymmetric smile, facial muscle weakness, or skin ulceration around injection sites) please contact us right away.

Laser Treatments
General Information
Most concerns encountered following treatment with laser treatments (laser hair removal, IPL) can be prevented by appropriate aftercare. The following are some of the most common and helpful preventive measures.
- Sun Care: Beginning 24-72 hours post-treatment, use a high-factor sunscreen of at least 30 SPF and protect the treated area from over-exposure to sunlight for at least one month after your treatment(s). Avoid excessive tanning of any kind; sun exposure, tanning beds, and artificial tanning lotions are all contraindicated in the treated areas.
- Infection Prevention: During the first 48 hours following treatment, the area should be kept clean to avoid contamination or infection; any mechanical or thermal damage must be avoided. Do not use hot tubs, saunas, or participate in heavy exercise.
- Skin Irritants: Avoid products containing tretinoin (Retin-A), retinol, benzoyl peroxide, glycolic/salicylic acids, ascorbic acid (vitamin C), and astringents for one week following treatment on the affected area(s).
- Skin Care: Moisturizer (serums, lotions, creams without actives) may be applied 24-72 hours after each treatment and then should be applied regularly continually as determined by the provider. Generally, 24 hours post-treatment, patients may use regular cleansers or soaps, but not scrub soaps or exfoliants.
Recommendations
- 1. Keep head elevated, avoid lying flat or prone (face down). Using pillows to elevate the head will help reduce bruising, swelling, and pooling of blood in the area(s) treated.
2. Do not massage or touch treated area(s). Avoid rubbing and massaging the area for a minimum of 24 hours post treatment.
3. Take oral arnica immediately and after 24-72 hours, apply topical arnica as needed for bruising.
4. Avoid any strenuous activity that may raise your blood pressure and heart rate, which can cause bruising. Avoid running, weightlifting, pilates, yoga, aerobics, cycling, climbing, and sex for the first 24-72 hours.
5. For at least 72 hours following treatment, avoid aspirin, Motrin, ginkgo biloba, alcohol, excessive caffeine, sugar, or salt. Additionally, avoid garlic, flax oil, liver oil, fish oil, vitamin A, vitamin E and other essential fatty acids.
6. Follow skin care regimen as instructed by provider.
7. Limit mask wearing time for the first 24-72 hours.
Possible Side Effects
Laser treatments, whether utilized properly, or improperly, could result in side effects. While side effects are uncommon and expected to be transient, any signs indicative of an adverse reaction should be immediately reported to the provider. Side effects may include any of the following conditions listed below, which may appear at the time of treatment, or shortly afterward.
If any of the following are progressively worsening after your treatment, please call our office immediately.
- Swelling
- Excessive skin redness
- Persistent pain or discomfort
- Change of pigmentation
- Scarring
- Infection

Sculptra
General Information
All faces lose volume as we age, so Sculptra is a great option to help combat the natural loss of collagen. This treatment typically lasts about 2 years, but given that it is a poly-Llactic acid collagen stimulator, it can last longer with noticeable improvements seen well past the 2-year mark.
It’s normal to feel some discomfort or pain during the procedure and to see bruising develop after, so in-office we place ice followed by topical application of Arnicare gel to the treatment area to reduce bruising. If you bruise, we expect it to heal in about 7-14 days. It is also normal to experience redness and swelling around the injected areas, which should resolve over the next hours to days. Asymmetry is part of normal human anatomy and is often enhanced during times of swelling, like directly after injections. It is normal for eyebrows, cheeks, and smiles to be uneven at baseline, and for this reason, we recommend waiting two weeks for your filler to “settle” before discussing changes.
- Massage the treated area(s) for 5 minutes, 5 times a day, for 5 days.
- Ice the treated area(s) for the next 24-48 hours as your Bellora esthetician instructs.
- Do not apply heat unless directed to do so.
- Follow the skincare recommendations given to you by your Bellora esthetician at the end of your treatment, and wait at least 2 weeks before resuming cosmetic treatments using laser/ultrasound/peels/facials/microdermabrasion.
These recommendations should not inhibit your ability to participate in most normal day-to-day activities, but if swelling becomes extremely uncomfortable or if you experience any other extreme symptoms (such as numbness, tingling, discomfort, facial muscle weakness, skin ulceration/discoloration around injection sites) please contact us right away.
